Tickets cost £15 plus VAT for Biztech Members and £17 plus VAT for non members, Ticket includes a light buffet lunch.

The winner of this category will have displayed exceptional blue sky thinking to potentially create a technological solution to a real world problem. Current students will be expected to prove significant progress has been made on developing the idea in the last 12 months and have evidence of interest from industry. The winning project will more than likely be a team and will describe academic rigour as well as innovative and clear thinking about potential future commercial applications.

Best academic and business research project - WINNER: The Open University for MK:Smart

Knowledge is power and this category seeks to shine a welcome spotlight on the very best examples of how exemplar pieces of research can help to resolve commercial sticking points. The winners of this category will be able to clearly describe the commercial imperative behind the research as well as how the conclusions have been translated into action. Entrants will need to describe the details of the research project and prove its commercial ramifications.

Best technology-focused collaboration between academics and business WINNER:  Milton Keynes College & Movey for The Movey Academy

This award seeks to celebrate unsung heroes who are combining the highly prized skills of both business and academia. They will be shining examples of the benefits of combining ideas with clearly defined entrepreneurial goals. The winner or winners will be able to clearly demonstrate the problem that needed solving as well as the logical steps taken so far to bring the idea to fruition, including the overcoming of any significant obstacles. This technological innovation can be in software, hardware or both.
