Innovation Den’ - bringing together business and the city’s new University Campus

University Campus Milton Keynes (UCMK), Central Milton Keynes
Thursday 14 November, 5.30-7.30pm

November provides the opportunity for discussions around how businesses and University Campus Milton Keynes (part of the University of Bedfordshire), can harness innovation and talent in the very heart of the city.
The concept of the ‘Innovation Den’ is to develop a platform for innovation and knowledge exchange, bringing together students, academics and developing businesses in an environment that could lead to new concepts, products and further business opportunities.
The aim is to attract the brightest minds from across a range of businesses (large and small), the academic sector and the talented pool of students from in and around Milton Keynes Working together we will encourage creativity within both the technology and wider domains and aim to realise potential.
The event will host speakers including Bill Rammell, Vice Chancellor, University of Bedfordshire; Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Brian White and Fredi Nonyelu and Dr Philip Smith and is free to attend.
The event will also host Biztech’s regular ‘Ask the Expert’ forum and will see Lee Barney from Securm talk about IT Security. IT is an increasingly choppy sea for small businesses that are buoyed by innovative new technology to sail in.
Recently the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills reported that over 80% of small UK businesses suffered a security breach in the last year. Lee Barney will be discussing why this number is probably over-inflated and will help you to understand what small scale security looks like and how it can help your business.
