Intelligent Mobility – what does it mean for the future of Milton Keynes?

Venue: The Imovation Centre at the Transport Systems Catapult, The Pinnacle, 170 Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 1BP

The way people and their vehicles travel around Milton Keynes will change beyond all recognition by the year 2030 and you can find out how at a blue-sky thinking event on March 26.

Biztech technology forum and UCMK will be holding the latest in their exciting series of Ask the Expert gatherings in the city to explore the implications of Intelligent Mobility.

Intelligent Mobility involves the use of real time data to move people and goods around in the best possible way – by air, land and sea - and is a key component of the Smart Cities movement.

Fredi Nonyelu, chairman of Biztech, said: “Milton Keynes is developing a reputation as a world leader in the development of Future Cities.

“The city is predicted to grow in terms of population and traffic movements and if we are to prevent Milton Keynes becoming gridlocked we will have to use technology to make it work. “The use of Intelligent Mobility is a top priority to keeping the city's competitive advantage.”

There will be a number of demonstrations of intelligent mobility, including air traffic over London, current motorway flows and other great apps.

There will also be a cutting edge display of sentiment analysis, showing people's experience of their journeys. These will be displayed on both a map and a Twitter wall within the Transport Systems Catapult.

Who should attend?

  • Businesses interested in developing technological solutions to mobility issues.
  • Tech experts wanting to know more about Intelligent Mobility.
