Metrology: People, Processes and Practicality The first event of Silverstone's Technology Cluster's  Metrology Special Interest Group will showcase the latest in the field of Metrology through in-depth presentations from experts at the top of their fields. Joining them for this event is Ian Wilcox from Coventry University. Ian has over 25 years of experience in the field of Metrology, but his specific expertise in the human element of Metrology is what his presentation will focus on for this event. Ian’s presentation will highlight the issues being faced by companies today in both training and education of metrology. He will showcase his work at Coventry University aimed at tackling this as well as assisting the industry to produce the engineers of the future. In addition, they offer a rare opportunity to hear from Colin McGrory, technical director at Sandwell. Colin, through his work at Sandwell, has long been at the forefront of R&D in surface engineering, having been instrumental in the development of projects like FlexiFinish for additive manufactured parts as well as nano-crystallisation. Colin was recently announced as global Shotpeener of the Year, becoming only the third European recipient of this prestigious award. Making Tax Digital

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is said to be the most fundamental change to the administration of the tax system for at least 20 years and it is coming into effect this year.
