Sport technology - Behind the scenes of the Rugby World Cup

Milton Keynes will be hosting three Rugby World Cup games this autumn – the ideal opportunity for an eye-opening Biztech event on the subject of sport technology.

Biztech business and technology forum has lined up two expert speakers to offer a behind the scenes look into what goes into making the kind of sporting superstars who will be running in spectacular tries and making bone-crunching tackles at stadium:mk later this year.

The speakers will be Tom Cash, the UK South Account Manager for global leading sports software company, Sportstec, and David Pears, Senior Lecturer and Coordinator for the BSc Sport Science and Coaching course at the University of Bedfordshire.

The aims of the event are:

  • To inform attendees of the technology and analysis used in sport and for sport coaching.
  • To promote discussion and debate about how the technology and analysis could/can be applied for different businesses and markets relevant to the attendees.

Fredi Nonyelu, Biztech's chairman, said: “Biztech is a major forum for businesses using, supplying or just interested in technology and this local event gives us a topical way to engage our members and the wider community.

“Sport technology, with its focus on incremental performance improvement is a fascinating sector and one with possible applications in other industries, too.  “Businesses, students and sports fans will find it an enlightening experience and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on October 8.
“We hope it will also provide lightbulb moments for anyone looking for a commercial opportunity or to enhance their careers in sport.”

  • Business leaders thinking out of the box about the wider application of the business principles involved in sport technology
  • Sport coaches and practitioners in local clubs Students or practitioners of sport technology
  • Sports fans who want to know more about sport technology

Ticket prices are £15 for members, £20 for non-members and £5 for students (limited spaces).  Costs include a delicious full English breakfast
