Student and business innovators were worthy winners at the Biztech BrightSparc Awards.
The awards, re-launched after a six year absence, were held at the MKEX Technology Exhibition, at stadium:mk in front of an audience from business, education and Milton Keynes Council.
Fredi Nonyelu, chairman of Biztech business and technology forum, said: "The BrightSparc Awards supports SME tech companies and aims to foster a habitat within the South East Midlands area that is good for investors.
"We are showcasing and championing home-grown companies to become global leaders and Biztech hopes winning a BrightSparc Award will propel the winners on to great success at an accelerated rate."
Dr Paul Sant, the awards host and associate dean at UCMK, introduced the awards lunch main speaker, Andrew Carr, the chief commercial officer at the Digital Catapult. Andrew spoke of the "good buzz and positive vibe" in Milton Keynes for tech companies.
The judging panel was made up of Dr Nick Lancaster, of the University of Bedfordshire; Professor Enrico Motta, of the Open University; Silvia Vitiello of Kingston Smith, Diane Monk and Davina Pancholi from Homebase and Cllr Peter Marland, leader of Milton Keynes Council.
