Biztech business and technology forum has welcomed Leading Edge Only (LEO) into the fold as a member company and is excited about the possibilities it gives for connecting innovation seekers to innovation providers.
Scott Sharp, the founder and chief executive of LEO, said: “We are very pleased to be part of Biztech and help support those members that strive to promote their innovative solutions to a much wider market.”
Scott explained: “The joys of being an innovative small to medium enterprise are so many. You get to build that better mouse trap, or perhaps exploit a un- or underserved niche, or better yet, you develop a disruptive business model that allows you to displace larger but less nimble competitors.
“That moment of inspiration - which is then converted into practical innovation - is a critical driver of today’s global and digital economy.
“However, the economic benefit only manifests itself when entrepreneurs crack the code for connecting their vision to the marketplace.
“For too many innovators, the clock – and the seed money that gives innovation its initial form – runs out before the go-to-market challenge is solved. Good ideas, as a result, do not make it and the market is poorer for it.”
Scott added: “It is ironic; even though we now live in the “innovation economy,” we have not put in place the infrastructure to create an effective market for innovation. The reasons are many. For one thing, it is difficult to connect people with ideas that have never even been contemplated. But that does not mean that people – investors, customers, and partners – do not want to know.”
Leading Edge Only has created an “innovation” marketplace that provides an automated framework for connecting people in search of new ideas with SMEs that are developing them. LEO has a community of major corporations, consultancies, governments and other large enterprises who are active in the marketplace of seeking new ideas.
“Creating effective innovation communities are a critical step in ensuring the emergence of an efficient market for the innovations that will transform our lives, our work, and our world.”
Fredi Nonyelu, Biztech's chairman, said: “LEO holds a crucial role in making sure innovations with the potential to change the world have a chance to not only get off the ground but gain traction. They provide the oil that keeps the economy driving forward.
“Biztech aims to create the conditions where a technology hub similar to that in London or Cambridge can thrive and grow in the south east midlands area. Having LEO on board is one of the most important steps Biztech has achieved in the last few years and we welcome Scott and his team to membership.”
