Cybersecurity is now an everyday part of our lives, albeit a complex and burdensome one. Technology has a role to play however protection depends increasingly upon the attitudes, awareness, behaviour and capabilities of the people involved. People are a key asset in achieving security,however factors such as lack of awareness and understanding, plus unreasonable demands from security technologies, can dramatically impede our ability to provide the security we need.

Dr Nikki Williams, Lecturer in Human Aspects of Cyber at Cranfield University, and Thomas Bennett, Security & Content Networking Consultant, SecureNet Comunication Solutions will be describing how cybersecurity practices need to change if we are to maintain robust cybersecurity protection. This is by making security tools more usable, developing new technologies to minimise user inconvenience or by finding ways to better visualise and process security alerts.
