Biztech SkillsHub:MK Collaboration

Addressing the Digital Skills Gap in Milton Keynes

Is lack of digital and technical skills slowing your business down?

Not anymore!

Biztech is collaborating with SkillsHub:MK by MK College to bring the best events and FREE training courses for your business so you can fill the digital skills gap and take your business to new heights!

The initiative will provide training courses, and promote partnership and mentorship between employers, businesses, and post-16 training & education providers to help shape future digital and AI technical skills. Since training and education are the only ways to help your employees develop and enhance their digital skills, these events and courses will play a critical role in bridging the skills gap in the local business community. Businesses are encouraged to register their interest and fill out the Training Needs Assessment right away to make the most of this initiative before it concludes in March.

Creating a Digital Network for the Future

As the leading business and technology forum of Milton Keynes, we are in an ideal position to help businesses in Milton Keynes build a digitally and technologically skilled workforce that is fit for the future. Through this collaboration with SkillsHub:MK, Biztech is organising special events and subsequently delivering practical training courses in digital skills that will improve career prospects for local people and support Milton Keynes employers in finding the digitally-skilled workforce they need.

Our industry-leading events will focus on helping businesses navigate the world of digital through digital technology skills training. Each of our three ‘Navigating the Digital Economy’ events will be delivered from an educator’s, entrepreneur’s, and an adviser’s view, to help map out the complete journey to businesses that are planning to adopt digital technology. Attendees can learn ways to identify the latest technology trends and developments from educational institutions, discover how these trends impact businesses from entrepreneurs and learn how business advisers introduce new digital technology into a business. The Biztech SkillsHub:MK events will be held on Thursday, 3rd March 2022, Thursday, 31st March 2022, and Thursday, 21st April 2022, respectively.

Spatial Intelligence Is About to Transform Public Services

Spatial Intelligence Is About to Transform Public Services

Public services are entering a new era of awareness. Spatial intelligence is transforming how care homes, transport hubs, and public estates understand and respond to what’s happening within them — in real time. By combining privacy‑safe sensing, predictive analytics, and dynamic wayfinding, environments can now anticipate risk, improve accessibility, and operate more efficiently. The result is a shift from reactive management to proactive prevention — creating safer, smarter, and more inclusive spaces for everyone.

From Funding to Impact:

SMEs don’t struggle with ideas—they struggle with turning ideas into reality. Moving from concept to research and development is complex, risky, and resource heavy, especially without the right support.
The Open University–led innovation programme across the Oxford–Cambridge Growth Corridor changes that. By connecting funding, expertise, and real world testing, it gives SMEs a faster, smarter route from innovation to impact.

Customer Testimonials

I came across the Biztech Forum about 18 months after starting my Engineering Consulting Company. I was still finding my feet and had been doing the rounds of various networking groups. From the first meeting I attended the Biztech Forum was different! Noteably, the meeting was about arranging Events for members to inform and educate them about business and technology topics, not businesses (mostly irrelevant to me) trying to sell to each other! 11 years on and I am a Director of the Forum and have found great value not only in the Events, but most particularly in being able to collaborate, associate and work with like minded peers and leaders be they with technical, entrepreneurial, education, business or any other background.

HDK Solutions

I joined Biztech because I saw an opportunity to help more Tech Business owners in the region. The Biztech Board is full of enthusiastic and very experienced tech leaders and their passion and vision to helping others was the main reason that I joined. My membership has helped me to expand my network and make quality connections within the tech sector. I look forward to supporting not only Biztech but also its members and stakeholders for many years to come.

Innovate to Success

We joined Biztech to discover more about and engage with the community of technology businesses within the Milton Keynes region.  We benefitted immediately from the events that Biztech presents that address a range of highly relevant subjects and that have helped us to feel very much at the centre of the local community of businesses.

It became apparent however that there was much more than Biztech could do to help the region’s technology businesses to thrive, for example by looking for ways to address the shortage of young people choosing a career as an engineer.  It was a great privilege therefore to be able to help establish the massively successful ‘Engineering your future’ Biztech event held annually for schools.
