We collect as little as we can get away with, and this page says exactly what that is.
Who we are
Biztech Technology Forum Limited is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England, company number 06888156, at 1 South House, Bond Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK1 1SW.

What we collect, and when
When you send us an enquiry. Your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to put in the message — and, on the training form, your role, the size of your team and what that team does. Nothing on the form is required beyond a name, an email address and the message itself.
When you sign up to the newsletter. Your email address.
When you read a page. A count. That is the whole of it — see Cookies for how that works without identifying you.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, anything sensitive: no health data, no financial details, nothing about your race, politics, religion or anything else in the special categories of the UK GDPR. Please do not send it to us.
Why we are allowed to
- Answering an enquiry — because you asked us to. In UK GDPR terms, that is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us, and the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before any contract.
- The newsletter — your consent, given by signing up, and withdrawn by the unsubscribe link at the foot of every issue.
- Counting page views — our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful. It sets no cookie and builds no profile, so there is nothing here to consent to.
Who else sees it
HubSpot run our enquiry and newsletter forms, and store the results. They are our processor: they hold the data on our behalf and act on our instructions. HubSpot is a US company and data may be transferred outside the UK; those transfers rely on the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Their form embeds also bring in Cloudflare and Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection, which is why the forms do not load until you accept cookies.
Statichost host the website and count page views.
Nobody else. We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we run no advertising trackers of any kind.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: three years from our last contact with you, then deleted. If the enquiry becomes a piece of work, the records that go with that work are kept for six years after it ends, because that is how long we may need them for tax and contractual reasons.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, and then only the fact that you did, so we do not add you back by mistake.
Page-view counts: aggregated, with nothing in them that identifies anyone.
What you can ask for
Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it to someone else, or stop doing it altogether. You can withdraw consent to the newsletter at any moment without giving a reason.
Email general.manager@biztech.org.uk. We will answer within one month, and it costs you nothing. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we do not hand your data to somebody else.
If we get it wrong and you are not satisfied with how we put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first.
Changes
If what we do changes, this page changes before it does, not after.
